Martin H. Reiss, Governor

Mr. Martin (Mickey) Reiss' career spans over 30 years, focusing on fire protection safety through new technology, codes and standards development and proper installation of fire safety equipment.  Mr. Reiss' knowledge and experience in the engineering field has brought him continued recognition as an outstanding leader, promoting total fire protection in the public and private sector through the voluntary standards system. He presently serves as President and CEO of The RJA Group, Inc., Framingham, MA, a global fire protection and security consulting engineering firm. 

In addition to his professional responsibility, Mr. Reiss serves on a number of boards and committees.  He was appointed to the NFPA Board of Directors in 1992 and served as Chair from 2000 to 2002.  In support of the voluntary consensus code process, Mr. Reiss is a member of NFPA's technical committees which includes National Fire Alarm Committee, Life Safety Code Committee, Building Code Committee and Cultural Resources Committee.  In addition, he is a member of the China Fire Protection Association and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Institute of Building Sciences. Mr. Reiss was awarded the Grade of Fellow by the Society of Fire Protection Engineers.
