Imad Y. Eldurubi, Governor
Imad Eldurubi is a Deputy Building Official for Willdan, Class AA@ Representative for the City of Holbrook. Imad brings with him a solid educational background in architecture and engineering and ten years of experience in code enforcement. Imad has a broad experience having worked for two Arizona Jurisdictions: City of Tucson and City of Phoenix. During his seven years with the City of Phoenix, Imad examines plans for new construction, alteration and repairs for compliance with City of Phoenix building codes and zoning regulations, Imad acted as the senior lead on the Permit Counter, providing technical advice and assistance to architects, engineers, contractors, home owners and department inspectors and staff on required code compliance and design corrections. Imad represented the City of Phoenix; Development Services Department on the City Aviation Team, Residential Sound Mitigation Program, and Imad reviewed the entire plans for 900 homes surrounding Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, and participated in the selection of contractors for the required construction. Imad was appointed by the City of Phoenix as an International Conference of Building Officials Voter representative from 1998-2000 and as NFPA Representative in 2001. Imad is a Professor at Phoenix College, teaching American with Disability Act requirements and Building Codes, Department of Architecture and Interior Design.
Imad is the Past-Chairman of the Arizona Building Official Association and the Past-President of the Arizona Chapter of International Code Council. Imad served as the Vice-Chairman of the Arizona Building Officials, as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Arizona Chapter of International Conference of Building Officials in 1998 and 1999, and served as the Vice-President in 2000 and 2001. Imad Received the President=s Award for Outstanding Services in 2000. Imad served on the Arizona Building Official Education Committee and the Standards Communication Committee since 1998, and currently is serving on the Legislative and Awards committees, Chaired the Arizona Building Official Eight Annual Spring Institute 2001, and received the Award of Merit for the leadership and the success of the Institute. Imad Served on the American Institute of Architects of Arizona, Continuing Education Advisory Board in 1999. Imad was Appointed to the International Conference of Building Officials Mechanical Certification Committee in 2000, and currently serving on the International Code Council Accessibility Certification Committee, and just appointed as the International Code Council Coordinator to the Accessibility Technical Committee for New York City. Member of the (NFPA) since 2001: the Architects and Engineers and Building Officials Section and the Building Fire Safety System Section, member of International Code Council since 1996, member of International Fire Code Council since 1999, and member of the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials since 2001.
